I really love Amazon.com, to me, this is the best thing the Internet brought us! I don't know if I've been lucky, but I have only had great experience with the customer support, always fast and friendly. Prices are amazing, and the choice is monumental. Now, call me picky, but I find it a pain to to use their site! There are so many items, that it ends to be hard to find what you want. It's frequent that I use Google instead of Amazon's own search function! When I search at Amazon, it seems like it doesn't return all items, and often it returns wrong things. Also, I noticed that some items are listed several times at Amazon, and sometimes at different prices! It already happened that I found an item, and while searching deeper with Google, I found the exact same one, sold at a lower price still at Amazon.com?! May be this is a matter of errors in Amazon's database, but it worked! Of course, there is excitement to make such discovery, and have a better deal, but that's also a pain in the ass, to have to dig all around. Now, when I want to buy something, it's taking me hours to look around to be sure it's the best price that Amazon is proposing.
Another point which I find both great and bad, is all the different third party sellers. It's great, that for a single item, you can choose among several sellers, with different prices, but, to me, it's adding to the confusion, especially since all sellers are not of equal quality. So after some bad experiences, I decided to only buy items sold and shipped by Amazon, to avoid bad surprises.
So, it might not be seen as a rant, but still, I think that Amazon is great, but over time it has become more and more hard to use, and confusing.

I completely agree with you Stan! I have had the exact same experience with Amazon. It is definitely a love/hate relationship. I feel like I could have written this rant myself. Good day

My problem with Amazon, is with their search tool. At first it looks ultra powerful, with tons of options, and sorting, but when I look closer, results are often not matching the criteria I select. The latest example to date, is when I wanted to buy one 8GB USB Flash Drive. I selected 8GB as the capacity, and sorted by "price low to high". First of all, within the results were drives of other capacities, like 4GB, and the price sorting was totally messed up. Beside this, Amazon is offering such big catalog and great prices, that it's hard to complain too much 🙂

I always click on the "new and used starting from" link, because they also include more options from "Amazon", believe it or not. So keep that in mind.
I never thought of using Google to get more search options for Amazon! I'll give it a try!

Amazon is no longer what it used to be. Too many third-party sellers, some are good, but a lot of them are junk.
