The trauma of being picked last

At school, when it came to picking teams, I was always the last to be chosen. I wonder if it can still be called being chosen, since there is no choice. I never understood why, because, I was good in both sports and classroom! By the way, if you didn't experience this, you can't imagine the trauma this causes. Each time the words "let's make our teams" was pronounced, it would make me feel sick inside! Still now, even though I am an adult, and installed in my life, I still feel this trauma deep inside me. Yes, I know, you are going to tell me that I should not give too much importance to all of this, but this is easier said than done.

I wonder if adults/teachers are measuring the impact of this kind of thing and the consequences on the last-guys like me! Why don't they simply build teams themselves? Randomly selecting names, or using the alphabet, anything else would be better!

Hey, Robert! What's really cool is when the team captains fight over who chooses first, so they don't get stuck with you.

An even worse feeling is when you go to a party with your close friends and then they pick teams and you are still the last one chosen. All I could think was wow I'm the last pick of the last picks.

The trauma of being picked last
This is the story of my life, sigh.

I dread all the moments where the teachers said "do your groups".

Being taken last, shows you how much you are rejected. We pick you, because we don't have a choice. I am surprised that pediatric psychiatrists are letting this continue.

Great way to begin in your life.

Yes. It's even worse when the team captains have a fight over who picks first, because they don't want to get stuck with you. :-(

Being picked last is a tremendous right of passage. I was frequently chosen last for various team activities. It made me grow and become stronger mentally. I also appreciate the bullying I endured during my childhood. It strengthened me. The kids who kill themselves today due to bullying were just weak and needed to be removed. It's called natural selection. Our race continues to de-evolve and become weaker due to "participation" trophies, and PC speech, etc.

Count me too. I was always the last to be chosen. At first it hurts, then after a while, I no longer minded. #MoveForward

If you wait to be picked up, you are follower, be a leader, take your destiny in your hands, move forward.
