Since some years, we are seeing an increasingly growing number of "smart devices". Manufacturers keep explaining how everything will be "smart", and "connected". Our cellphone, our TV, our cars, our fridge, our toilets, our light bulbs. What an amazing time we are living in. All our appliances embedding computers and being connected to the internet for all kinds of trivial reasons. Besides all the radio waves surrounding us, and causing all kind of health issues for sure, I see in all of this a time bomb.
Computers with operating system, connected to the Internet equals hackable.
Nowadays, see how hackers are able to take control over personal computers, and use them to do all kinds of illegal activities, such as DDos attacks (when lot of computers flood a site with tons of requests to make it unreachable). So imagine if tomorrow, to this armada of zombie computers, hackers will take over the control of our appliances, our fridges, TVs, etc.
So yes, the all-connected world that appliance manufactures are preparing, will be a bright future for the hackers. -AJ
