Why do we vote on a weekday?

I don't understand why elections are held during the middle of the week… wouldn't it be more convenient if it was on a Saturday or Sunday? Lots of people have to choose between voting and their work.

If you set the vote on a week-end, you disturb the rich people who are out of town, enjoying hobbies, like golfing.

If you set the vote on a weekday, you disturb the poor ones, who are working.

The choice is easy.

Sarcasms apart, there are ways to vote by anticipation too.

Right!

Set the vote on a Saturday or Sunday, and the upper class will vote less, set the vote on a weekday and it is the lower class that will come less.

Politicians have made their choice for a long time, serving the upper class.
