Sorry to all Sony and Microsoft fans, but, the very best console of all time was the Super NES! Today, when you get a PlayStation or XBox, do you really feel an excitement? No way! They are great yes, but when you get them, they are not that special, you unpack and plug them without really pleasure or excitement, like you would be installing a microwave oven! Back to the beginning of the 90's that was totally different when Nintendo released it's 16bits console. That was WOW so amazing, and exciting. You had a gap in the quality and diversity of the games, from the previous generation of consoles and most of all you had REAL games! Not a bunch of games which look the sames like we have today! With the Super NES it was instant entertainment and fun! You just had to put the cartridge in the slot, and start playing right away! Today, you insert the disc, and ... you wait, ... there is a first phase of installation, and then you ... wait... because the game was published unfinished full of bugs, so it needs to download a patch, which can take hours, then you can finally... accept a terms of usage, and when you think all is finally done, ... you need to create an account at the site of the publisher for the purpose of getting a better gaming experience, my ass yes. And finally, between two bugs and crash, you can admire cinematographic sequences, and animations, interrupted by sequences of game play, where you are told on the screen which button to press when. How fun.

I am pro-Sega, but I have to confess that the Super Nintendo was mind blowing with its palette of colors and its mode 7 (even if it made me nauseous LOL). Super Mario World was so amazing!

Proof that the Super NES is the best console of all times, is that, almost 30 years later, there are still games being released ! Yes, and I don't mean ROM developer by fans for emulators. I mean real games, on cartridge like in old good times !
You had the versus fighting game "The Darkness Hunter - Unholy Night" (E-Concept/Blazepro), released last April. And later this year this is "Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero" aka Shockman (NCS Corp/Winds Co) which is coming out.
It's true that the second, is not really a "new" game, it was released during the 90's, but only available on download. Yes the Super NES had a feature to download games, I didn't know that until recently! This was sold only in Japan, but the Super NES had an extension called Satellaview
(or BS-X) , which allowed to download games and codes, by satellite !
Long live to the Super NES. Oh it makes me think, please Mr Nintendo, like you did a Mini NES, please release a Mini Super NES !!! Please, please, please!

Yes, yes and yes 🙂 To me the Super NES is the first "real" console, when you were able to have the quality of arcade games at home 🙂 ( Street Fighter 2, Final Fight, etc... ). 256 colors at the screen, this was waow 😁
