This is not really a rant, but I am getting confused with all the new / intermediate consoles. There was the Xbox One S for Microsoft, and the PS4 Pro for Sony. Now, there is the upcoming Xbox Scorpio.
Is it a new console ? (new generation?), or, is it just an Xbox One on steroids ?
I understood that the Xbox Scorpio will be able to run Xbox One games, and that these games will benefit from the increased of performances, like this is the case with the PS4 Pro. However, for the PS4 Pro, Sony made it clear that all games will be playable on both the PS4 Pro and the "normal" PS4. So I was wondering if it will be the same for the Xbox Scorpio?
In other words, will this be the same games on Xbox Scorpio and One ? Or will the new games be exclusive to the Scorpio ?
Thanks for your enlightenment.

From what I understood, this will be the same games on the Scorpio and the Xbox One. On the Scorpio these games will benefit from higher resolution, enhanced graphics and higher FPS (may be not all together).
Now, I guess that some editors might released games which will require a Scorpio. In one hand it might be more work to make a game able to run on both platform with different settings (but after all, this is what is done on PC), and in the other hand having your game able to run on both the Scorpio and One means a larger market and so potentially more buyers and longer life time for the games.
To me, Microsoft is just merging the Xbox and PC.

Don't worry, finally Microsoft cancelled its Scorpio, isn't it ? What a mess.

This is games that Microsoft is badly missing, not hardware. They should invest more on developing exclusive kick-ass games.
