Beside counting, I don't understand why we should bother learning mathematics in school. What is it used for in life? For average people, this is totally useless, and we have computers, smartphones, etc… if we really have to handle a complex mathematics problem. And for those willing to become scientists, then yes, but let them learn this at the University, when they are in specialized classrooms.
Also, how many of us have been traumatized by algebra or trigonometry or other domains of mathematics that I can't even spell correctly?
I think it's a waste of time. School should only focus on the very basis. Teach less, to teach better.
